Thanks for another great year at Sabourin!
We would like to thank all of our guests who return year after year, as well as all the new faces that experienced Sabourin for the first time. For many, Sabourin has a magical pull over us. It is the touchstone of our lives that gives us hope and helps to keep us sane. One devoted guest shared his story with us this year and I think it embodies what makes Sabourin so special.
Ten years ago, Tom was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer. He was warned that even with surgery, he might not survive. He went ahead with the surgery and set a goal. His goal was to go to Sabourin Lodge the following year. He made that milestone and this year was his tenth anniversary as a cancer survivor and he celebrated at Sabourin. For Tom, coming to Sabourin “is a spiritual journey to the place I held onto as my goal to see me through some tough times. I am able to find a peace here I wasn’t sure I’d ever see again. I come to Sabourin not so much to catch trophies, but to experience the beauty, the wildlife and the serenity of such a place.”
