Fall Greetings from Sabourin Lake Lodge!

As another season comes to a close, we hope this newsletter finds you well, reflecting on wonderful memories made at Sabourin and looking forward to many more in the years ahead.
What an incredible fishing season we had in 2026 - We enjoyed exceptional fishing, with record numbers of trophy-sized fish caught and released throughout our lake system.
Most importantly, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our guests who returned to Sabourin following our pause in 2025. Your continued loyalty, friendship, and support means more to us than you know. It was wonderful to welcome so many familiar faces back to the lodge, as well as meeting new guests. We look forward to seeing you again in 2027!
Exciting Management News!

We are thrilled to introduce Patrick (Pat) McEniry as our new Lodge Manager!
Pat brings 16 years of experience at a large American Plan fishing lodge, where he worked his way up through nearly every position. Starting as a dockhand, he quickly advanced to head dockhand, fishing guide, and ultimately manager of both the lodge and airbase operations.
Having managed a busy lodge accommodating up to 45 guests at a time, Pat understands firsthand what it takes to deliver exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment. His extensive knowledge of the fishing industry, hands-on experience, and proven ability to help grow a business much like Sabourin, makes him an outstanding addition to our team.
Beyond his professional experience, Pat is a dedicated family man who shares our love of the outdoors. He and his wife, Megan, welcomed a baby girl in August, joining their two-year-old son.
Finding the right person to manage a remote fishing lodge is no small task. We were looking for someone with the experience, dedication, and long-term commitment to carry on the traditions that have made Sabourin special for generations.
We have exciting plans for Sabourin's future, and we couldn't be happier to have Pat helping us bring those plans to life.
Please join us in extending a warm Sabourin welcome to Pat, Megan, and their young family!
Celebrating 70 Years of Sabourin Lake Lodge!

2027 marks a very special milestone — Sabourin Lake Lodge's 70th anniversary!
Construction of the lodge began in 1957, laying the foundation for what has become a special place for generations of families, friends, and anglers.
While much has changed in the world over the past seven decades, remarkably little has changed at Sabourin. The breathtaking wilderness, pristine waters, and exceptional fishing remain much as they were when the first guests arrived.
In fact, we believe the fishing is stronger today than it was 70 years ago!
In 1984, the surrounding wilderness became part of Woodland Caribou Provincial Park, further protecting this remarkable landscape. In 2018, the region received international recognition with its designation as part of the Pimachiowin Aki UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our longstanding commitment to catch-and-release fishing has played an important role in protecting and sustaining our fishery. We take great pride in knowing that future generations will have the opportunity to experience the same incredible fishing and wilderness that our guests have enjoyed for decades.
What's Happening Around Camp This Fall?
Although our guest season has ended, things are anything but quiet at Sabourin! We are excited to share that we have installed a new solar power and battery storage system, a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to sustainability. This new system will substantially reduce our reliance on diesel-generated electricity, lowering fuel consumption while helping preserve the pristine wilderness that makes Sabourin so special.
Our crew, including Maintenance Manager Coleton, Pat and John Williams worked hard at the lodge this past week getting the system installed and operational. By the end of the week, the lights were on — powered entirely by solar energy!

It's an exciting improvement for Sabourin and one that will benefit the lodge for many years to come.
We look forward to sharing more updates and improvements in our winter newsletter.
Looking Ahead to 2027

Your friendship, loyalty, and shared love for Sabourin mean the world to us. Thank you for being part of our story.
We look forward to welcoming you back in 2027!
